QLeave is Queensland’s portable long service leave scheme for building and construction workers. We help your workers get the leave they’ve earned.
As an employer in the building and construction industry, you must complete a worker service return by 31 July each year. You’ll report your worker’s service and wages to QLeave, and QLeave will calculate their long service leave entitlement.
Your 2024-25 return will be available to complete online from mid-June, but you can do a few things now to make your life easier at return time.
- Login to QLeave online services
It’s a good idea to check that you have access to the online portal before it’s time to complete your return. If you’re having trouble logging in, make sure to contact QLeave before your return is due. You can also request access to an existing registration online if you have a QLeave account but you’ve never accessed your company’s registration.
If you've never had an account with QLeave, click ‘sign up now’ on the portal access page to create your profile. Once your profile is set up, follow the steps to request access to an existing registration.
- Add an authorised contact to your company's registration
You might want to give someone else in your business access to your QLeave registration so they can complete the worker service return for you. If you want to do this, you’ll need to ask QLeave to add an authorised contact. Find out more.
- Add new workers
Save time on your return by adding new workers who have started with you since 1 July 2024. You’ll need their contact details and QLeave worker number to do this. If your worker isn’t sure what their number is, they can find it by logging into QLeave online services or checking their long service leave statement.
You can find instructions for starting workers on our website.
- Start your return early
It's a legislative requirement that you submit your return by 31 July, otherwise QLeave may take compliance action. QLeave will email you in mid-June when your return is ready to complete, so it’s a good idea to get started early to avoid missing the due date.
